On January 10, 2010, my husband and I began a lifestyle make-over. The specific goals were to lose weight and get into better physical shape; however, it is my desire to take this make-over a step further, to become the person who I was created to be. Losing a few pounds is a step in the right direction, but there is more to who I am than a number on a scale. Sometimes, most of the time, I feel lost and uncertain of who I truly am. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a co-worker, and the list of titles goes on. I am all those things and yet more. There is more to me than what I project on a daily basis. It is time to put down the masks, lay down my defensive weapons, and step out of the shadows. It is time to be me!
I stepped out of my comfort zone in September of 2013 by working out with a personal trainer three times a week. The gym soon became one of my happy places. My trainer took my transformation a step further by getting me hooked on powerlifting! I set National records for my age/weight group at my first competition in July 2014, and I am looking forward to getting stronger every time I compete.
I am not the same person who started this blog, but I definitely like who I am becoming!
