The Climb

One week…that’s all that is left in this pre-competition waiting game. The heavy training is behind me. I’ve broken in the singlet once again. I’m biding my time, waiting for the right moment to drop the last few pounds. I think I am ready. I think my head is screwed on right. I feel confident, but there is always just a little niggle of uncertainty. After work this afternoon, I went for my walk. I have narrowed down my playlist to only ten songs; the ones that have the most impact for me right now. Some of those I have already shared, and today I am sharing another. It’s a Miley Cyrus song from The Hannah Montana movie (which I have never seen!), but I like the song. It is completely appropriate.

I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,

Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I

Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move

Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side

It’s the climb
The struggles I’m facing,
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down but

No I’m not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m going to remember most yeah

Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause

There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose,

Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb (yeah)
