Press & Pull

I had my last training session of 2014 this morning, and it was good. It is another beautiful, blue-sky, sunshine-filled, cold day. How I wish that the sun could still be shining at 5:00 tonight for the Resolution Run! It would be nicer to run in sunshine, but it is simply nice to be able to run at all. I might need to remind myself of that for the first kilometre or two, while I am still feeling the cold.

I am excited for the new year and the changes to my training. More squatting, more bench…although we’re kind of doing that this week. I don’t mind one bit.

1A) competition deadlifts

warm ups: 135 x 5, 155 x 3, 185 x 2

195 x 3 for 5 sets

1B) competition bench press

warm ups: 45 x 5, 65 x5

85 x 5, 90 x 5, 85 x 5, 90 x 5, 85 x 5

2A) block pulls

135 x 3, 185 x 5, 195 x 5, 195 x 5

2B) close grip bench press

65 x 8, 75 x 8, 75 x 7 (the eighth rep just wasn’t there), 75 x 6 without any legs as a test

3) one arm rows with a 12kg kettle bell

per side: 15, 15, 10, 12
